OUR PURPOSE
Focus on Learning promotes the development of life-long learners who are able to create and guide meaningful learning experience.

Focus on Learning serves participants from five Eastern Region colleges who are directly involved with the creation and support of learning experiences.

WHO WE SERVE
Participants come from five Colleges in Eastern Ontario (Durham, Fleming, St. Lawrence, Loyalist and Algonquin).  We are frequently joined by trainers/facilitators from industry and colleagues from other educational institutions in Ontario and throughout the world.

OUR PROGRAM
You will use a variety of program resources and engage in active learning experiences with colleagues from all the colleges in the region. You will leave with an enhanced repertoire of skills that you can apply in your own teaching and learning setting.

WHAT TO EXPECT
An opportunity to apply new skills separates two in-residence sessions.

Part 1 - Five Day Summer Session -  August 11 - 15, 2008

In this session you will:

• Design, practice, and evaluate learning activities that accommodate the needs of diverse learners.
• Create clear plans for personal change in your own professional practice.

Part 2 - Three Day Follow-up Session - June 2 - 4, 2008

This session will provide you with an opportunity to:

• Share your new experiences.
• Receive feedback.
• Discuss teaching and learning with colleagues.

You will return to your classroom with new understandings and new skills.
