University of Ontario Institute of Technology Scholarship and Bursary Program

Entrance Awards and Scholarships

For information about the Entrance awards program for students entering the University of Ontario Institute of Technology, visit the Scholarship section of the UOIT website.

In Course Scholarships

Each year, students who excel academically at UOIT are awarded scholarships. There are no applications for these awards; qualified students in each faculty are selected and notified through their MyCampus email.

The Ontario International Education Opportunity Scholarships

The Government of Ontario has allocated funding to UOIT to create Ontario International Education Opportunity Scholarships for students completing part of their academic program abroad. These scholarships will provide eligible students with financial support for a period of academic study, work term or co-op placement outside of Canada. There are a total of seven awards available to UOIT students with a value of $2500 each for the 2008-2009 academic year. The application and eligibility criteria are available on the UOIT student tab of the MyCampus website.

General Bursary Program

General Bursaries may available to full time post secondary students requiring additional financial assistance to cover their educational costs. Students will be considered for bursary funding by completing a Student Financial Profile form, which is available from August 1st each year on the MyCampus website, along with information regarding eligibility requirements and deadlines for submission. You must have a valid student number to access the MyCampus website. Before applying for a General Bursary, students should investigate all other forms of financial assistance. This may include OSAP, scholarships, family support, student line of credit and part time employment. Once the application is submitted, it will be reviewed by the Financial Aid + Awards office and the student will be notified of the results via their MyCampus email account.

Financial Emergencies

Students experiencing a critical financial emergency need to meet with a Financial Aid officer in the Financial Aid + Awards office in SW116 in the Gordon Willey building. The Financial Aid officer will discuss the situation with the student to determine the options available to them.

Donor Awards

Thanks to the generosity of members of our community, including individuals, organizations and corporations, there are awards known as Donor Awards available to UOIT students. The donor participates in determining the criteria for the award, and the name of the award. Details about these awards may be found at Donor Awards.

External Awards

External awards are available to UOITstudents from outside sources. Information about available awards for students is posted on the MyCampus website. This site is updated on a monthly basis, and includes links to the applications, eligibility requirements, and the submission deadlines. Check MyCampus frequently for current information.
